Daring Cardmakers Take a Break

Here is a card I have made for this weeks Daring cardmakers challenge.

The dare involves creating a card incorporating a tea bag or coffee satchel - just perfect for days when somebody may need a quiet rest and break.

The alphabet and paper was printed out from 'Now that's Funky' Cd design coffee with pals. The note on the front i printed out from a design i did in psp. I used a green tea t-bag to keep them healthy lol.
It took me a while to decide what to do for this card but i think in the end it turned out well.

Beaded Card

I made this card after being inspired by a project set on an msn group.
I started with an aperture card and then backed the outer apertures with glitter card. The beads were threaded on to wire and stuck to the inside of the aperture.
I finished it off with peel off borders a gold elastic thread bowed and a silk fabric rose.

Nikki's Blog Candy Challenge

Nikki Challenged us to use something we all have hidden away in our stash somewhere....patterned paper you don't like! So this is what i have come up with:
The backing paper i have never liked and hadn't got a clue what to do with is from a book of papers i bought from papermania. i added some ribbon to match the colours in the decoupage and the backing paper, which i think works quite well and the decoupage is also something i had bought a while ago but then when i got it home wasn't really sure that i liked it. I think i only bought it to give me a few more masculine pictures to use on cards. The greeting is a rub on that i had in my stash. I mounted it all on a holographic card to try and make it a bit more interesting. It did take me a while to get some inspiration for this card but i don't think it turned out too bad in the end

sketch#5

Well i have been busy today and here is my next challenge done. This one is for sketch #5 on My paper World. i have used the Unicorn from Lili of the Valley, backing papers are ones i had in my scrap box. The Embelishment at the top is a mixture of flower and butterfly sequins held together with brads. The bow at the bottom is threaded through pink eyelets. I really enjoyed making this card. In fact i've enjoyed making all my cards today.

Sketch this card #43

the ribbon is from Sama sticky Ribbons. The butterfly peel off is just stuck onto pink card and cut out.

Food and Drink

This is a card i have made for this months Card Creations theme challenge. The lilac backing paper is Papermania and the cup backing paper and picture was from a sheet by Majse.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Be there or be square

I have decided this week to have a go at the papertake's weekly challenge. This week they have asked for square so here is my entry.
As i was making easter cards i decided to have an easter theme with this card. I used a nice floral paper with a grid pattern on it, fixed to the card with brads. I then used my cuttlebug to emboss a square pattern onto some pink and blue card, which i then used my stamp die to cut them out.
The easter eggs and the sentiment were from this months 'Lets Make Cards'. I then finished it off with eyelets threaded with organza ribbon.

second card of the day

Here is the second card i have made today. The decoupage flowers are from Marianne designs, and the border is the border from around the decoupage sheet (waste not want not lol). the sentiment is a jelly stick on, free from a magazine.
The photo doesn't do this card justice, it looks a lot nicer in life

new card

Well today i decided it was about time i made some more cards, and this was the first one I made. I was so tired while making it as had no sleep last night, but concentrating on crafting made me feel much better.
I used a paw print backing paper, layered onto the card and finished off with faux stitching. The sentiment and the dog are layered onto gold mirror card and the dog finished off with a brown bow and brad

Roni Highchair

Today I decided to have my first go at the Arty Farty Roni Highchair , sorry about the phot's as they don't really do it justice. The embelishments on the highchair i made with fimo, which was a challenge in itself as this is also the first time i have used fimo.

The box has acetate windows and peel off corner.
I haven't decided on a sentiment for it yet as have no-one as yet to give it to, just wanted to have a play. The chair is in Lemon card so is unisex.

Mothers Day

I decided that this year for mum i would make her a bookatrix. While shopping yesterday i found a dufex decoupage that i thought would be perfect. The centre of the card is the dufex board and finishes it off fabulous

Valentines

This is the valentines card I made for my partner. I'd seen cards like this around so thought that i would have a go at making a template for one.
After pulling apart an envelope I traced it onto card and the scanned it into the computer so that i could print off the template to the size i needed at the time. I now have 3 templates, A4, A5 and A6. The one here i made from the A4 one.
I forgot to take a phot of it before giving it, so this morning i decided to get the camera out only to find my 2 year old son had beaten me to it and torn it into bits. After lots more dst i managed to get it good enough to take a photo.

Tilly Cake

This is from the arty farty templates.
This is my first attempt and i'm quite pleased with it

Corset

This is a card i made for my daughter. It was her 19th Birthday and wanted something suitable for her and this is what i came up with. I used the gem styler to put the gem in the middle of the corset.
I love the effect that the skeleton leaves give for the skirt

Nan's 90th

This is a card i have made for my Nan's 90th Birthday.
I got the idea from a fellow blogger, and thought it would be a lovely special card for her.
I have used acetate (although a little too thin for this) and used the stitching peall offs, without being stitched. I have placed a decoupage orchid in the middle and matched up the sentiment on the inside of the card so it won't show through when the card is closed. Finished off with a nice organza ribbon and bow

This is a card from the grand-children. It is made using the Arty Farty Poppy template. The outside is made using the cuttlebug happy birthday embossing folder with gold card.

On the inside I have used a medallion peel off that i have places onto acetate and then used permanent markets to give colour.
This was then, placed onto the circular cut out and suspended with with gold thread, tied in a bow with a gem fixed into the centre. Embellished with gold peel offs.

Trapeze Card

This is my first Trapeze card. I made it for my mums 60th Birthday and i can honestly say i enjoyed making it.
It is made with a template that is basically Paper Embroidery. In the middle is suspended a disk that i have placed a decoupage butterfly on.
I then placed a hexagon shape over the stitched edges, this is also embroidered.
The rest of the embelishements on the card are peel offs.

My first day of blogging

Well here goes, my first day of blogging.
Not sure at this moment what to write, but i'm sure it will come to me as i go along.
I've started up this blog so that i can record all that i make with my papercrafting and also to share with others.
I will try to put up as many of my creations as i can, may be it will also help in inspiring me on what i can do next.
Last night i sorted out all the cards that i have made and not sold so that hopefully I can find an outlet that is willing to sell them for me, I might even be tempted to put them on ebay, as there is a lot more of them than i thought.
I spent this morning making the banner for my blog, and i have also used the same design to make some business cards that i can pass around and hopefully get some business, that way i can appease my OH who wonders what i am going to do with all the stuff i have.
Well I'll close this blog for now and see what i can put up on here to make it a bit more interesting.
Thank you for looking
