B&W with one other colour

DP: not really sure as i recieved it in a RAK but i have dotted some blue stickles onto it.

sarah kay valentine

I have made so many valentines recently for challenges i have been getting a bit fed up with them and running out of ideas, but on Cute Card Thursday this week the challenge is Valentines and i just couldn't pass another challenge by.  So thinking cap on I came up with this card.  Also on ABC challenge this week the challenge is Y for Yesteryear. 'dig out one of the first stamps you brought from the bottom of your craft box and give it a new lease of life'
Main Image, Sarah Kay coloured with whisper pens and waterbrush.
heart stamp: Whispers and this is one of the first stamps I bought about 18 months ago when i first started cardmaking.  My OH bought me the stamping box with a few stamps in it from hobbycraft.

Thank You

Ok here is the fist card of the day for me.  I have made this card for Dutch Dare: Make a thank you card.  And i have used the sketch from MDC.

DP: PM Olivine Essence.
Image: Penny black coloured with my whisper pens and water brush
Ribbon from stash.
I have paper pierced the edges of the papers and then used a sakara stardust from the dark range to make the faux stitching.  I also used my sakura to go over the sentiment to give it a bit of sparkle.
As the cardstock i used was a bit thin for my liking i decided to decorate the inside of the card too, to make it a little bit stronger

This card I have made for the Dutch Dare Challenge, which this week is:
Create a card with a mosaic on it.
I had quite a hard think on this one as wasn't really sure how to make it look good but in the end i think it turned out ok. Almost everything on this card except the CS, image and sentiment is Laura Ashely Galleria.
Image and sentiment Penny Black

123 frame it!

I have had very little time this weekend to do any crafting, and as i love doing all the challenges that i can, I thought it might be better to incorporate as many challenges into one card as i can. With this card I have incorporated 3 challenges.
Saturday Challenge : 1,2,3. 1 image, 2 papers and 3 embellishments.
Penny Black Challenge : Frame it. feature a frame somewhere on your entry.

Lots of Love

Now this card I have made for someone special, and have managed to use 3 challenges to complete it. Firstly I have used the sketch from Friday Sketchers and it was a wonderful sketch to work with. The theme on Charisma Cardz is 'Love', and the ABC challenge this week is to have an 'X' somewhere on your card. I also had a try at a new technique that i had not tried before and had seen somewhere in blogland while blog hopping but not sure who's blog it was because i closed the window before taking note, so I appologise If you are reading this and I have not given you the acknowledgement.

The Technique is ebmossing velvet and wow does it give a fantastic finish. I was lucky enough to find some black velvety material in my scraps box so tried it out and it works wonderful. I used the stamp free with papercraft inspirations. The technique was :
stamp right way up. lay velvet top side down on the stamp. Spritz with water to wet the velvet, then hold an iron on cotton setting onto the stamp and velvet for 10-20 seconds or until the velvet is dry.

I will definitely be trying this technique again and am now going to search for scraps of velvet in all the charity shops so that i can do more of it

Monochromatic Valentines Card

Over at Stamp Artic there is a challenge at the moment to make a Monochromatic Valentines card.
'Monochromatic means you are only allowed to use 1 color for the entire card. You can use as many nuances within the same color, as you please. We allow "skin colors" and of course black and white where that is natural, in addition to the main color. (black and white: f.ex- white cardstock to stamped images, and stamped images with black ink)Theme must be Valentine or Love.'
This took a lot of thinking about but here is what i finally made:

I Decided to make it all white and searched through my stash to see what i could do. I used some clear pvc in my cuttlebug to diecut and emboss the heart and then backed it with white card. Vellum with white flowers on from PM. Ribbon and flowers from stash. Sentiment stamped and heat embossed

Kazan sketch 18

I love Kazan's sketch on 2s4u this week. As soon as i saw it i knew what i wanted to do with it. I just used Cream CS with a took of milk chocolate brown and using Archival Brialliance Lightening black ink (which is more of a bronze colour) I used the stamps that came with this months papercraft inspirations to make this card.
The photo isn't very good as i just couldn't get the lighting right to show it off to it's best and you can't see the georgeous sheen of the ink on the card.
It is a very simple card but very effective when the light catches it. I may have to try taking another pic tomorrow when the light is a lot better.
