Paint The Town

I really enjoyed making this card.  At Daring Cardmakers this week they are asking us to use paint on our cards.  So here is my attempt.
I painted the background with pearly watercolours to make it look like water.  I then stamped out the mermaid and all the accessories from the woodware Little Mermaids and also painted them with pearly watercolours.  It's a shame the photo doesn't show the card at it's best as it is very shimmery

DT call for Sassy crafts

Emma at Sassy Crafts Online shop is looking for a new DT, so I thought I would give it a go.  She asked us to show on our blogs 3 specific pieces of work.

1: A stamped project
This was quite an easy one as most of my work is stamped.  The hard part was which one to choose.  Finally I chose this one.  The image and the sentiment are stamped.
2: My favorite piece of work.  I think at the moment my favorite piece has to be this one.  I can't really tell you why but i just love it.  I think it coculd be the colours and the K&Co backing papers that draw me to it.
3: A project that contains 4 square, 3 small and one large.
Here is the card I finally came up with.
I decided to make something bright and cheerful as all we have had recently is rain and i needed some cheering up.
DP was sent to me in a RAK, Ribbons from stash.  Tilda image coloured with watercolour pencils.

Wish me luck everyone I need it and it will be going to a public vote to choose the winners so if you ever pop over to Emma's site think about me and vote he he.
Would be a great birthday preasent for me 2 as it is my birthday the day after the closing date of the 21st oct.

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Turn Up The Heat.

This Weeks Challenge On Cupcake Craft Challenges is set by Jennifer, And here is the challenge she has set us:

Welcome to Challenge 9 at the Cupcake Challenge Blog. This week it is my turn to choose a topic and after lots of thought I decided to opt for "Turn Up The Heat". I love playing with heat tools such as encaustic tools and embossing guns so I thought this would make a fun challenge. You can use any form of heat or hot colours on your creations.
I can't wait to see all your wonderful work - I hope you enjoy the challenge.
Here is the card I made for the challenge using this theme.I have used quite a bit of heat embossing on this card.  I started by making the bathroom tiles. Peice of black cs scored at 0.5 cm intervals to make a chequered board pattern.  stamped all over with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The poaenny black image is cloured with watercolour pencils and then the bubbles are double embossed with clear embossing powder.
The circles on the background is made by stamping using a cardboard inner from some kitchen paper and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Why not have a go yourself.  Pop over to Cupcake Craft Challenges and have a look at what the rest of the DT have done with this theme.
