Blog Candy at A Card for Life

Just to let you know Debbie at A card for Life has some great blog candy up for grabs to celebrate her first designs being made into stamps. Check it out here.

Dottie ready for a party

Here is the card that I have made for my daughters friend. It will be her 4th birthday so thought the Dottie Fairy would be appropriate. The backing papers and sentiment are from the crafters companions Girls CD. Dottie is coloured with pearly water colour paints that i bought from The Works. I love these paints and they are soooo much cheaper than H2O's, just wish there was a larger selection of colours. The letters for her name have been printed out and then clear embossed to give them a 3d effect.

my prize from Trimcraft

If you have read my earlier post on 'thank you teacher' Than you will have read that i was a finalist in Trimcrafts July competition. Well I am proud to announce that i won, and here is my prize. It's a selection of the Dovecraft pet's range and it's lovely. Now just got to ge some idea's on what i am going to do with it

A Christmas Carol

The Challenge on Papertake weekly this week is to ma a Christmas card. No special instructions.
I decided to have a go at making one of these slide cards, and i like it so much i may just make some more.
I have used the penny black christmas critters stamp for this, coloured with watercolour pencils and highlighted with sakura clear stardust. i can't remember where the backing paper is from as its some scraps left over from last year.

Advent calender

I was inspired after looking through websites to make this Advent calendar. I found the idea on Make the moments last. They have some great projects to try. Now just got to find somewhere to store it safe until December so that it doesn't get damaged.

DC challenge

The Daring cardmakers challenge this week is to 'Use images, use colour, use embellishments that make you feel cold and remind you of winter.'
So here is my card
The backing papers are by Marie Johnstone, which are then layered onto matt silver cardstock. The snowman is diecut with my cuttlebug and then watercoloured with my whisper pens and the boddy glittered up. The snowflakes are die cut with my cuttlebug from white glitter card and then stuck onto acetate to give them a 3d motion effect.
hope you like it

Tutorial Diamond top Card

Since i made this card I have had a few people asking me how i made it so I have decided to do a tutorial on my blog.

Firstly take an A4 piece of card stock and fold it length ways down the centre. I then trimmed the card so that it was 20cm's wide (10cm's either side of fold).

Open the cardstock and mark 10cm's down each side and score accross card.

From the centre poing of that score (down the middle of the card mark 3cm's, then down ech side from the score line, measure and mark at 7cm's.

score between the 7cm mark and 3cm mark on each side.

valley fold on the 10cm score line and mountain fold on the 7cm score line.

fold the card and it should fall into shape.
Decorate as required
