Live and let Die

Caardvarks challenge this week is to create a card using die cuts. And as i've been in a creative mood today i thought i would give it a try.

Photobucket

I used a pearlised backing paper and stamped flowers with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder that has a touch of glitter in it.

The butterfly die is sizzix butterfly #2 that i have coloured with pearly watercolours and then edged with a gold pen.

The sentiment is a woodware stamp that is embossed in gold.

Lots of Sparkle

I had a lot of fun making this card for the challenge on Cute Card Thursday.

The image is from Cute companions, which i coloured with watercolour pencils and then glittered the dress and the butterfly. The backing papers are from the cute companions CD

Crafty Friends Crafty Monday

I think I have said before that a crafty friend Sandra and i get together on a monday to make a card. We choose a blog challenge and both do the same one and see how different our cards are. This week we chose the sketch on Friday Sketchers for our challenge.
Once i had finished my card I also realised that it was perfect for the seasons challenge on Penny Black Saturday challenge.
Here is how my card turned out, and if you pop over to Sandra's blog you will see how hers turned out

Well Now I have a nice new blog i can show you the card that I made for this weeks challenge on Cupcake craft challenge.
This week is Christmas and i already had this idea in my head before Lauren emailed me with this weeks task.
christmas
The wording I sourced on my computer in my font's file as i wanted a snow capped font. then i used my icicle stickles to give the snow effect.
The backing paper inside and out is dovecraft winter wonderland. On the outside i used DST down each side and then glittered.
The snowflake is a die cut using white glitter card, mounted onto an acetate strip and the attatched to the card.
Why not pop over to cupcake and see what the other DT's have done and have a go at the challenge yourself with a chance to be entered into the monthly prize draw.
Donna has also given cupcake a facelift too and it looks great

Sorry not been posting

Well what a week. Somehow at the beginning of the week while trying to find some backing paper for a particular card I was making, I clicked on a website after searching on google and oh oh I knew straight away that it had taken me to a virus. Everything on my computer went stupid and for some reason my anti virus whish is usually excellent at catching things has missed it and let it through and it attacked my windows system directories and my IM and I couldn't get anything to work. I then had to do a boot scan to try and find the files and delete them which took me ages, but finally I thought i had got it sorted. But them my computer just kept shutting itself down, not like normal where it goes through the shut down process but instead the switched off dead with no warning. when I reboot it it then at first came back with a date of july 2005 and the time midnight. and the last time it happened and I rebooted it came back with a date of oct 10th 2010 and a time of 10:10. So I think there may still be something of a virus there that I just can't find.
I have been busy transfering all my files on to an external drive so that i can totally trash my laptop and start from scratch. Grrrr it's going to take me ages to get all my programmes loaded on again.

Because of all this, I haven't managed to put any of my cards on my blog, especially my DT card for cupcake craft challenges, And i only just managed to get my card posted for Lauren this morning for this weeks challenge. (will be posting that card for all of you soon).

On a happier note. I have got through to the second round for the DT for Silly Monkey crafts. Out of 70 applicants, 18 of us have been chosen to go through to the next round. My Oh wondered what was going off when i let out a squeel of delight lol.
I have had to choose 3 of my best cards to send in for them to see my style and how hard is that. I have had all my cards opened in loads of windows on my computer scrutinising them all and trying to pick just 3, but i have so many cards that i love for some reason or another. In the end I just bit the bullet and chose three and then sent them quickly before I changed my mind again. Now I have to wait and see if I get through to the next round. I'm keeping my fingers andtoes crossed for this one. So if you see a woman walking funny down the road it's probably me suffering from severe cramp from crossed toes lol
Here is the card I sent in for the first round

CPS 82

Here is My take on this weeks CPS sketch. I embossed some stockings from the dovecraft 99p range of stamps.backing paper from, redhotbed and ribbons from my stash

Crafting Morning

On Monday morning a crafty friend of mine Sandra and I decided to get together and have a go at one of the challenges in blogland and see what we could come up with.
We chose Penny black Saturday challenge to play with and here is the card I made.

The main backing paper I made using my whisper brush markers scribbled onto a piece of acetate. Another peice of acetate was placed on top and then rubbed together to mix the inks. paper was then placed between the sheets of acetate and rubbed down to transfer the ink. The brown spotty paper is dovecraft masculine. The image is from Penny blacks 'Bubbly' range. I coloured this with my whisper pens and koi brush. Due to the card stock i used the colours started to bleed which was annoying at first but then I decided i really liked the effect it gave.
Check out Sandra's blog to see how her challenge card came out, once she has uploaded it lol.

Back from my hols and back to posting

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted for a while but i have been on my hols in Devon. But i am now back and ready to start new projects.
On Cupcake Craft challenges this week they are running an ATC Challenge. There is no particular theme for this so i found it difficult in choosing which atc to use as i have made a good range of them recently, but I eventually chose this one. The photo doesn't really do it justice as it is decoupaged and looks really good in real life.
Hope you like it
