Mardi Gras

While surfing blogland I found a new challenge blog Fun Frilled and this weeks theme is Mardi Gras. So oout came my stickles, embossing powders and gems and I just had fun scattering it all around my card. It's a shame the photo doesn't really show the sparkle of the card, but the lighting today is very poor, but this card it just too fun. Hope you like

Tripple Photo Frame

Over on Double Dutch this week the challenge is to make 'anything you want as long as it's not a card'.
This took some thinking about for me, but then i looked at my kids school photo's that i hadn't managed to frame yet and got the idea for this triple photo frame using my BIA

I have a huge stash of mount board and thought this was the perfect CS to use as it has the strength to last longer than normal CS. I cut out appertures in the mount board the right size for the photo's and then covered them with the DP from summertime designs Winter gifts.
Stamped images are all magnolia coloured with whisper pens and water brush
wording is coloured with glass paints to give a slight relief effect

WOJ new release 14th feb

WOJ are releasing a new fabulous and fun Medieval Collection designed by Alison Acton with the characters "Charlotte & Charlie"and there is also a chance to win 10 of these stamps at Katharina's blog.

Doodle emboss

I had fun making this card as i tried something out that I wasn't sure would work. I heat embossed onto some doodle flowers I had made in mulberry paper which gave them a transparent effect, and then using my embossing tool rubbed them on the back of the petals to give them some depth. The effect turned out quite good.

This card covers 3 challenges

  • Crafty Creations : This is there first challenge and it is 'Hearts Galore' to put hearts on your project.
  • CPS : sketch 102
  • Spoonful of Sugar : 'Doodle Doo' We would love to see some doodling on your cards. This could be hand drawn or if you have scrolls and swirl stamps you can also use these.
For the doodling my DP is a doodle type paper. I then used a doodle stamp to edge the card. Also the flowers I hand doodled

Caardvarks meets Dutch Dare

For this card I have incorporated 2 challenges as both challenges worked perfectly together
  1. Caardvarks : We heart you - make a card and be sure to include hearts - I have used a heart P. etc. Straight talk stickers and there is also hearts on the DP
  2. Dutch Dare Challenge : Create a love themed card using no pink and red - both the Image and the DP's are from Funky Fairy's Love Train set.  Aren't those owls cute

4 into 1

I have made this card for a very special friend of mine Sandra for her birthday which is today.
To make the card I incorporated 4 challenges.
  1. CCT : Metallica - Use some metal on your card - I have used a metal butterfly charm for this.
  2. Charisma Cardz Challenges: A recipe 3,2,1. - 3 different papers, 2 flowers, 1 ribbon. - I have used 3 papers from Funky Fairy's Love Train set that was free with the funky fairy's blog hop that was only available for 24 hours.
  3. MDC: Paper Piercing - This week's challenge is to use creative paper piercing on your card. We love the look of traditional paper piercing, but we'd also love to see some piercing used in unconventional ways - For this part I have pierced around the edges of all the papers to faux stitch and also paper pierced a pattern on the white circle.

A Spoonful of Sugar meets PWC

I had real fun making this card.  I think it's because the image was so lovely to colour. The theme is PWC: Hearts and Flowers , which is to use hearts or flowers (or both) and the sketch is from A Spoonful of Sugar:  While making this card I played around with distressing, which i have done many times before but this time i decided to use my battery operated nail file that i have had for years but never used and it was sat in the back of a cupboard.  I had a play to see what effect it would give and now i'm hooked lol

DP 's from my stash a micture of freebies from magazines and some i recieved in a RAK.  Distressed around the edges and faux stitched
